Today and tomorrow (16th and 17th July) industrial action is being undertaken by council workers that may affect waste collections, schools, care services and other services.
There is currently a national dispute between the Local Government Employers and the trade unions Unison and Unite over the proposed public sector pay awards, which are subject to government policy.

So far, none of Portswood’s schools are being closed because of the industrial action.
