If you have been around the civic centre over the past few days, you will have noticed a large amount of work going on in the civic centre car park. This work is the start of the construction of the Southampton City Ice Rink that is due to be completed by Friday 21st November. The 20 by 30 metre ice rink will allow up to 200 hundred people to skate at any one time, to the backdrop of the civic centre.

Southampton Conservatives are delighted to announce that the ice rink will be back this year and will form the centrepiece for the cities Christmas celebrations. The ice rink will have the capacity to hold 200 ice skaters at any time and will be open from Friday 21 November until Sunday 11 January. The ice rink will be located in the car park at the front of the Civic Centre.
The Ice Rink was launched by Cllr John Hannides and Olympic Champion Robin Cousins MBE from Dancing on Ice.
