All about me!

I am originally from neighbouring Somerset I moved to Southampton to study History and Politics at Southampton University. Whilst studying I was chairman of the Southampton University Conservative Association. In 2007 I achieved a 2.1 BA Hons, but by now I had fallen in love with Southampton and decided to stay here and make it my home.

I was elected Conservative Councillor for Portswood Ward in May 2008. This is my first role as a professional politician, and one that I had to work particularly hard to achieve. None the less I have embraced the challenges that come with the role and feel that I have what it takes to continue to work hard in representing the residents and businesses in Portswood.

I have a keen interest in the values of the Conservative Party, and pay close attention to central party politics whilst balancing this with the commitment I have to my local residents.

When I am not hard at work in the council, I am a trainee teacher studying for a PGCE in a variety of schools throughout Southampton and Hampshire. As such the education of our children is something close to my heart.

In between politics and education you might find me supporting Bath Rugby, and the England Cricket Team.

I also sit on the followingComittees and Sub Committees of the Council-

Committees / Sub-Committees:

Healthy City Scrutiny Panel
Safer Communities Scrutiny Panel

Other Appointments:

Admissions Forum
Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership
Schools Forum

I am indebted to the residents of Portswood who voted for me and look forward to exceeding their expectations and working for their interests.
